From zippers
to high-tech

1951

Foundation of Color Metal. The production of colored zippers gave the company its name

1983

Development and start of injection mold manufacturing

1993

Acquisition by Monika and Otmar Gutmann: there were 18 employees and a 750 m² production area

1995

Addition of the construction department

1999

Expansion of the production hall by 800 m²: expansion of the milling department

2002

Enlargement of production by a further 800 m²: expansion of the assembly department and installation of a pilot plant

2003/2004

Comprehensive new building and conversion of the administrative and sanitary areas over two floors to a total of 600 m²

2004

Otmar Gutmann wins Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Akademie der Führungskräfte (German Executive Academy)

2010

Air conditioning of the complete production area

2011

Conversion of production processes to 5-axis machining

2017

Expansion of production area by a further 800 m² and Introduction of a new ERP system

Monika Gutmann has left the management on January 23, 2023. Mr. Florian Gutmann was appointed as the second managing director of Color Metal GmbH.

Since 1993, we have invested substantially in our company. Over the years, Color Metal has expanded in five stages to occupy an impressive area of 3500 m² and has become an ultra-modern supplier in the world of precision molding. Our original workforce of 17 has now grown to 100.
